We played Pokémon GO at London's most famous landmarks and look what we caught

As the viral creature hunting game officially comes to the UK, we've been out to catch Pokémon at Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and all around London

Pokémon are already teeming in London as the mega-viral smartphone game finally goes live in the UK.
Mirror Online ventured out to some of the capital's most famous landmarks to see the effect of the smash hit game - and play it ourselves.
It involves hunting for Pokémon creatures in the real world and adding them to a personal encyclopedia. You can then level them up and fight them at local 'gy

As you can see from the video above, the little critters were already there to be caught before today's UK launch for those who had downloaded the app via the back door.

The game has become the number one mobile game of all time in the US and over a million people have already downloaded it in the UK.
Mobile provider EE has revealed that more than 350,000 people on its network in the UK have already been using the app, before the official release.
"I have been playing  for a few days now and I am hooked," said the Mirror's Charlene Bougourd, who took on the challenge of touring London with the game.
"I remember Pokémon coming out when I was a child and it has been great getting out and about playing the game, trying to find your all-time favourites and comparing them with friends."

"The game is amazing and I have had alot of fun with it and it is only the beginning," she said.
"It's giving gamers of all ages the chance to play Pokémon on their mobile and experience it whether you are new to Pokémon or a gaming veteran."
One word of caution, the game is going to heavily drain the battery on your smartphone.

Both iPhones and Android phones have optional battery-saver modes that will help prolong battery life. We'd recommend activating this before stepping outside to play the game.

Similarly, it's worth picking up a power pack to help sustain your phone if you're planning on gaming for a while.
